About That Other Critic

Who am I? Just some dude who loves to talk about movies. A cinephile if there ever was one, but, in all honesty, only recently did I fully dive into my love for film, which is why I fabricated this blog. Because I love to talk about film, and this is the best outlet for me to do so.

For film ratings, I use the contemporary U.S. school grading scale, from F to A+. Individually, the ratings mean as follows:

F (1)
F: Awful movie, a failure on all levels.
download (8)
D: Pretty bad, but with a few redeeming moments.
C: Average, unremarkable film.
download (11)
B: Above average, noteworthy elements, but not tied together in the best of ways.
download (13)
A: A fantastic film, a modern, or oldern, classic.

The pluses and minuses serve as intermediate levels, with A+ denoting a film that works on almost every single level. No film is flawless, but an A+ film comes close.

  4. Hey. Hope you are keeping well. I just wanted to drop by to invite you to participate in my next blogathon. The link is below with more details.

  5. Greetings from the Pure Entertainment Preservation Society! This is a fine article.

I, Rebekah Brannan, have not participated much in the blog world in the past, but I intend to become more involved now. I have read several of your articles, and they are all informative and enjoyable.

I would like very much for you to participate in my upcoming blogathon, The Singing Sweethearts Blogathon, which will be my first real participation in PEPS. This blogathon, which will be hosted around Valentine’s Day, is celebrating the famous singing team Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy. I see that you are interested mainly in horror and adventure films, but I thought that you could write about “The Phantom of the Opera” from 1943, since it featured Nelson Eddy.

You can read the rules of the blogathon at: https://pureentertainmentpreservationsociety.wordpress.com/2017/12/20/ring-the-assembly-bell-here-comes-the-singing-sweethearts-blogathon/. If you want to join, please comment and tell me your topic, if you have chosen one. I hope you’ll join me in honoring this brilliant team and the holiday of love!

    Rebekah Brannan
